Founded in 1977, GMI has over 30 years experience growing exotic specialty mushrooms at our farm in Sonoma County, California.  In addition to growing fresh mushrooms, Gourmet Mushrooms, Inc. produces a wide range of mushroom mycelial biomass products for the nutraceutical industry.  Both fresh mushrooms and nutraceutical products have been Certified Organic since 2003.

Gourmet Mushrooms, Inc. was the first commercial grower of shiitake mushrooms in the Western Hemisphere.  Between fresh mushrooms and nutraceutical biomass, we grow more varieties of mushrooms than any other farm in the U.S. Our harvest of five varieties of organic specialty mushrooms ships nationwide to America’s finest restaurants, specialty food wholesalers, and gourmet grocers. Our mushroom nutraceuticals are marketed worldwide.

Along with fresh cultivated mushrooms and nutraceutical products, GMI also offers a selection of seasonal wild mushrooms, truffle oils, and dried mushrooms (including Morels, Black Trumpet, and Porcini).
